Frequently Asked Questions                                                                           Trail Map

There is a lot of riders in the area and a lot of people on various trails:  sleds, groomers, folks on skis and snow shoes.  The state of Michigan is really encouraging all of us to enjoy the trails.  We try to anticipate questions you might have about riding sleds in various areas and provide answers here. If you need additional information email to saunders@jamadots.com.

1.

WHERE ARE THE TRAILS?

Official Trail maps are available at nearly every business in the Paradise area.  Check with the gas station, the motel or cabin office, or the station where you rent your sleds.  The maps let you know about fuel stops and other useful amenities. There are a lot of signs for sled drivers on the trail as well.

WHAT HAPPENED TO TRAIL 451?

TRAIL # 451 is permanently CLOSED ****(bypass of Paradise "birch hill area") CLOSED...due to the wishes of private property owners that own this land. Stay on trail #8 thru Paradise... Trail #8 NORTH of Paradise is groomed each day..

Go slow thru Paradise....15mph limit...no goofing off/showing off..people dont like to live in fear of being run over......seniors, home owners, children, and about 35 driveways to cross is the reason...please don't be the reason for increased law enforcement.

WHAT DO I DO AS I APPROACH THE GROOMER?

If you see a groomer coming at you PLEASE do this. If possible get to the side of the trail and stop and let us roll by. If you do not stop then we have to. Remember, we are out there to help you and keep the trails smooth. Sometimes we are out for 8-10 hours and it sure helps if YOU stop and let us by. If we have to stop it just adds to our time. On a busy weekend we can run across 100`s of sleds, if we have to stop it sure makes for a long night. Once we get by you, PLEASE don`t rip up the fresh groom also called the ribbon.

If you come upon a groomer from behind PLEASE do this. DO NOT ride right on our rear. Back off alittle and when it is clear we will stop and let you get by. All groomer drivers know the trails like the back of our hands and we know when and where to safetly let you by. BE PATIENT PLEASE!!! Also, dim your headlights if you are on high beam, it really blinds us in our big rear view mirrors. Again, don`t rip up our fresh ribbon.

MULTI-USE TRAILS

As spectacular as the scenes are in this area, we couldn't keep ALL the trails just for sleds.  Snowmobiles have their trails and then there are non-motorized trails.  Watch for signs and ride the right trails.
